TODAY FRIDAY (AUGUST 17), STS SOULIK IS ABOUT 2,000 KM FAR EAST NORTHEAST OF CAGAYAN AT THE PACIFIC OCEAN (21.4 N 141.0 E), WHEREAS, THE SOUTHWEST MONSOON WILL CONTINUE TO AFFECT MOST PARTS OF LUZON. ILOCOS REGION, CENTRAL LUZON, CALABARZON INCLUDING METRO MANILA, MINDORO AND CALAMIAN GROUP OF ISLANDS WILL EXPERIENCE CLOUDY SKIES WITH SCATTERED LIGHT TO OCCASIONALLY MODERATE RAINS AND THUNDERSTORMS. THE REST OF LUZON AND THE VISAYAS WILL EXPERIENCE PARTLY CLOUDY TO CLOUDY SKIES WITH LIGHT RAINS AND ISOLATED RAINSHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. MINDANAO, HOWEVER, WILL HAVE PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES WITH ISOLATED RAINSHOWERS.

 

BY SATURDAY UNTIL SUNDAY (AUGUST 18-19), CLOUDY SKIES WITH SCATTERED RAINSHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE EXPERIENCED IN EXTREME NORTHERN LUZON, ILOCOS REGION, ZAMBALES, PAMPANGA, BATAAN, BULACAN, METRO MANILA, CALABARZON, WESTERN MINDORO AND ROMBLON, WHILE THE REST OF LUZON AND VISAYAS WILL BE PARTLY CLOUDY TO CLOUDY AND MINDANAO WILL BE PARTLY CLOUDY WITH ISOLATED RAINSHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. DURING THE SECOND HALF OF THE FORECAST PERIOD, ANOTHER CYCLONIC SYSTEM WILL BE EXPECTED TO FORM FOLLOWING THE NORTHWEST TRACK OF STS SOULIK, AND WILL BE ABOUT 3, 200 KILOMETERS    EAST OF THE COUNTRY.

 

BY MONDAY (AUGUST 20), THE WESTERN SIDE OF LUZON WILL BE PARTLY CLOUDY TO CLOUDY WITH SCATTERED RAINSHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WHILE THE REST OF THE COUNTRY WILL EXPERIENCE PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES WITH ISOLATED RAINSHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS.

 

ON TUESDAY UNTIL WEDNESDAY (AUGUST 21-22), AS TC SOULIK MOVES CLOSER TO JAPAN ON TUESDAY AND CONTINUES MOVING NORTHWEST-WARD TO THE SOUTHERN PORTION OF KOREA, HENCE, COULD LIKELY ENHANCE THE SOUTHWEST MONSOON OVER MOST OF LUZON. EXTREME NORTHERN LUZON, ZAMBALES, PAMPANGA, BATAAN, BULACAN, CALAMIAN GROUP, MINDORO, ROMBLON, CALABARZON INCLUDING METRO MANILA, WILL EXPERIENCE CLOUDY SKIES WITH OCCASIONAL RAINS AND THUNDERSTORMS WHILE THE REST OF CENTRAL LUZON, REST OF MIMAROPA AND THE BICOL REGION WILL EXPERIENCE PARTLY CLOUDY TO CLOUDY PERIODS WITH SCATTERED LIGHT RAINS AND ISOLATED RAINSHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. THE REST OF THE COUNTRY WILL BE PARTLY CLOUDY WITH ISOLATED RAINSHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS.

 

ON THURSDAY UNTIL FRIDAY (AUGUST 23-24), THAT CYCLONIC SYTEM SPOTTED EAST OF THE COUNTRY LAST SUNDAY (AUGUST 19) MAY BY NOW BE OFFSHORE OF JAPAN AND MAY LIKEWISE INFLUENCE THE WEATHER IN LUZON UNTIL FRIDAY.

EXTREME NORTHERN LUZON, ILOCOS REGION, ZAMBALES, PAMPANGA, BATAAN, BULACAN, CAVITE, MINDORO, PALAWAN, ROMBLON, MASBATE, AND THE BICOL REGION WILL BE CLOUDY WITH LIGHT TO OCCASIONALLY MODERATE RAINS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS WHILE THE REST OF VISAYAS AND THE REST OF LUZON WILL BE PARTLY CLOUDY TO CLOUDY WITH SCATTERED RAINSHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS. MINDANAO WILL HAVE PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES AND ISOALTED RAINSHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS.
