Typhoon “SOULIK” continues to move generally Northwestward while maintaining its strength.

The eye of Typhoon “SOULIK” was located based on all available data at 1,300 km Northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon (OUTSIDE PAR) (27.8°N, 131.9°E).    Track 
Maximum Sustained Winds 160 km/h near the center
Gustiness Up to 195 km/h
Movement West at 25 km/h

  •  The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) enhanced by the Typhoon will bring occasional moderate to heavy rains over Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Babuyan Group of Islands and Batanes. Residents of these areas, especially those living near river channels, in low-lying areas, and in mountainous areas, are advised to take appropriate actions against possible flooding and landslide, coordinate with local disaster risk reduction and management offices, and continue monitoring for updates.
     “SOULIK” is less likely to enter the PAR.
The public and disaster risk reduction and management councils concerned are advised to monitor for the next update on this weather disturbance to be incorporated in the Public Weather Forecast at 4 PM today and 4 AM tomorrow. The next advisory for this weather disturbance will be issued at 11 AM tomorrow.
